Air is present during the initial commissioning of the main steam piping and equipment. Also, when the steam supply is cut off, air enters the system again. The air dissolves in the condensate water and returns to the boiler, causing corrosion. Additionally, the air in the system reduces the steam temperature.

The air in the main steam lines is discharged at the end of the line. Automatic thermostatic air vents discharge the cold air mixed with wet steam and air. When the mixture approaches a temperature close to the steam temperature, the vent closes automatically.

The TKK-11 series Ayvaz Thermostatic Steam Traps, with a brass body and all internal parts made of stainless steel, are particularly suitable for low-pressure environments.

They can be easily used in the confectionery and textile industries, steam radiators, and low-pressure steam units. In addition to automatic air discharge, they provide intermittent or continuous discharge depending on the condensate load. The difference from the TKK-61 type steam trap is that the body is angular.

Ayvaz TKK-11 Air Vents can be installed in any position on the pipeline for efficient and long-term operation. Suitable isolation valves should be installed to ensure safe maintenance and steam trap replacement.
